Founded and directed by Professor Johnny Moore, Cathedral Eye Clinic was established in 2008 with the clear objective of serving as Ireland’s premier centre of ophthalmic (eyecare) excellence, offering a world-class, unrivalled patient experience with Quality Care, Clinical Excellence & Patient Safety as key tenets. Our facilities offer a variety of expert eye treatments which can provide patients with total freedom from glasses and we are proud to be the only healthcare company on the island of Ireland to offer the revolutionary ReLEx VisuMax SMILE laser eye treatment. At Cathedral Eye Clinic, we believe in raising the bar in the pursuit of medical excellence and as well as laser refractive surgery, our surgical specialty focuses on cataract treatment, ocular surface reconstruction, retinal treatment, oculoplastics and other forms of intra-ocular eye surgery.

Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon
Professor Johnny Moore is a highly respected Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Clinical Director of Cathedral Eye Clinic, specialising in ocular surface reconstruction, laser refractive surgery, cataract and other intra-ocular eye surgery and has personally completed approximately 25,000 treatments.

Mr Wing Chan is a highly respected Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, with extensive cataract and lens replacement experience. Mr. Chan specialises in vitreo-retinal surgery.

Mr. Richard Best has over 20 years of experience as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, with particular interest in cataract surgery and vitreoretinal surgery. Mr Best acted as Clinical Director for Ophthalmology at the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast between 2004-2008.

With over 10 years of consultancy experience, Mr. McGimpsey’s specialism is in Vitreoretinal surgery and macular diseases, performing treatments such as cataract surgery, treatments for retinal detachment, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and lid surgery.

Mr. Sri Kamalarajah is a Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon with a specialist interest in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital disorders. He is based at the Royal Victoria Hospital and also has sessions in the Mater and Downpatrick Hospitals.
