I received the SMILE procedure a week ago today. Wearing glasses and contact lenses was affecting my life too much. I’m a teacher, so I was sometimes working 12-15 hour days, wearing contact lenses for long periods of time. The glasses were just becoming so inconvenient. I decided enough was enough, attended my consultation and in a few weeks I was booked in for surgery. 

After I got the procedure I went to bed for a few hours. I woke up that night and watched some TV, and my eyesight was great. It wasn’t perfect – there were still some cloudy bits. The next morning, however, I woke up and I had perfect vision. I went into town for some shopping that day, and my eyesight was fantastic. Since then, my vision has continued to improve. 

I go back to work in two days – so the fun begins again! It’s made such a difference. Being able to get up in the morning and see everything perfectly without having to put contact lenses in. It’s changed everything, and I wish I had done it sooner. There’s no better time than now!

I went to another clinic a few years ago for a consultation, but never followed it through – I just didn’t feel comfortable. I was recommended Cathedral Eye Clinic, and I went on their website and was very impressed. I felt really comfortable, and the whole atmosphere of the clinic was fantastic.
