My parents had laser eye surgery 10 years before me. I was too young, and my eyes were still deteriorating, so I had to wait until I was age-appropriate. I saw how quickly they recovered from surgery and how much it improved their quality of life – they didn’t have to think about counting contact lenses when we went on holiday; they didn’t have to worry about overwearing their contacts; they could play any sport without having to think about putting in their contacts beforehand or breaking their glasses… etc!
